From the Editor I am excited to tell you that the new issue of the Clinical Window Web Journal has just appeared. We continue with our educational viewpoint, this time having a clinical anesthesia topic: Low Flow Anesthesia. Reducing fresh gas flow into the circle breathing system helps optimizing gas consumption in anesthesia. When we balance our administration of inhalation agents to what the patient really needs, less of the excess gas would be flushed into the scavenging system. In fact, reducing "non-clinical waste" may be a feasible way for improved cost containment in today’s managed care. In addition, publications have appeared which have pointed out that excess amounts of anesthesia gases may have environmental consequences. Sincere thanks to our visiting authors for their contribution. Our clinical papers and tutorial articles also cover other aspects of Low Flow Anesthesia, like CO2 absorption, humidification of airway gases, and effect on patient temperature. Ilkka S. Kalli MD, PhD, MBA
